The Torrent is designed for hard-core bushwalking in Antipodean conditions: multiday trips in serious terrain carrying a rucksack. (Whether you test it or not is up to you!) The longer cut will keep your legs (and your shorts) dry when you're out in the bush while allowing good freedom of movement. The sleeves are articulated and generous in length; no matter what funky moves you're pulling, it won't ride up. There are pockets galore: two side-entry hand-warmer numbers, two front-opening cargo pockets and a chest pocket that is secure, protected and convenient.,The Torrent has a roomy, fully adjustable hood that moves with your head: you can retreat into it in bad weather without limiting your vision. Double storm flaps protect the YKK zip, which is not only larger (number 8 rather than the standard number 5), but also easier to use and more durable. There aren't any shoulder seams, eliminating any problems in this area. The cuffs are secure and easy to use and the waist drawcord will keep the warmth in when needed.
